"You Can Do It"
We are happy to announce a new program at MTL. Our "You Can Do It" series will teach people in the community to do things for themselves. Classes will focus on learning through demonstration, and handouts and will be available to take home. Some classes will include projects and hands-on opportunities. The library will offer materials related to the programs for patrons to check out.

Our first program will be on "Container Gardening". Master Gardener Karlene Feldker will present a Powerpoint program and instructions on planting and maintaining a container garden. This program will be presented on Saturday, March 29 at 2pm.

Our second program, "Living Green:Simple Changes You Can Make" with presenter Lisa Dean, will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 2pm. Ms. Dean will take us through the house room by room and show us how simple changes can bring great rewards. The frist 25 registered attendees will receive a free book.

The third program will be on Saturday, April 29. The subject will be Disaster Preparedness and will be taught by Kim Strellis, Coordinator of Monroe County CERT. The first 20 registered attendees will receive a starter "Disaster Kit".

All classes will be at the Morrison-Talbott Library, and are free to patrons. Class size is limited. Registration is required. Call the library at 939-6232, or sign up at the front desk.

Our "You Can Do It" program is funded through an LSTA grant provided by the Illinois State Library.
