The Friends of MTL is a non-profit organization of people like you who use the library and appreciate its value to the community. The purpose of the Friends group is to assist in adult and children's programs, provide funds for materials and equipment, and focus attention on available library services. The Group meets once per quarter and volunteers throughout the year at various fund raising and program events.
The Friends of MTL will hold their next meeting in October, 2009.
Events
Friends help the Library by coordinating and staffing a number of events and programs throughout the year, such as the Pre-School Story Hour, Summer Reading Program, Guest Lecturer Series, Family Reading Night, Book Sales, and various other children's and adult programs.
Fund Raisers
The annual Golf Tournament and Book Sale are some of the more familiar fund-raising efforts of the Friends. These funds are then used for special projects like landscaping, furnishing the custom display wall in the Adult Reading Area and expanding the audio book selection. Funding assistance for ongoing needs such as audio-visual and computer equipment updates is also provided by the Friends.

If you choose to become actively involved, your efforts will help your library toward goals not yet reached. As a group we are always looking for new members with new ideas and enthusiasm.
